Description. Motor ships of the type SFAT (project 19612) are the big decker tankers of the "river-sea" class, with machine compartment and superstructure in the rear part, intended for carrying of crude oil and oil products, including benzine. Ships can carry up to six different types of cargo simultaneously. Ships are constructively similar to the dry freighters of the type "Volga" and differ from them by the superstructure, rear and fore-part of the hull. Ships have big sea draught and have to be partially unloaded for passing the inland waterways.

Serial building. The building of the series was begun in 1999. 5 or 10 ships were planned to be built, but after 3 units were built the further building was delayed.

Distribution. Ships of the type "SFAT" are built for the Transpetro-Volga company of the SFAT concern for work on the main european seas and in Persian gulf with the possibility of passing Volga, Don rivers, Volga-Don canal and Volga-Balt waterway. All delivered ships are in service at present time.
