| Project Q-040 |
Description. Motor ships of the projects Q-040 and Q-040A (types MAKSIM GORKIY and VASILIY SURIKOV) are the big passenger ships, intended for work on river cruise routes. Ships have single, double and 3-bed cabins, equipped with air condition, WCs and showers (project Q-040) or only wash-bowls (project Q-040A, except luxury cabins), restaurant, bar, three saloons, cinema hall, souvenir shop.
Modifications. The modified project Q-040A differs from the initial one by the absence of WCs and showers in the cabins and the increased passenger capacity.
Serial building. Since 1974 till 1975 4 units of the project Q-040 were built, among them 2 of the project Q-040A.
Distribution. Motor ships of the project Q-040 are operated on Volga, rivers and lakes of the Volga-Balt waterway. Mainly they work on the tourist route Moscow - Saint Petersburg, and also shorter routes: Moscow - Uglich and others. Ships of this type were delivered to Volga and Moscow shipping companies. All of them are in service at present time.
