| Type "Nizhegorodets" |
Description. Motor ships of the type NIZHEGORODETS and similar are the big dry cargo ships (projects 16510 and 16530) of the "river-sea" class and decker tankers on their base (project 15230), with double boards and double bottom, with machine compartment and superstructure in the rear part. Dry cargo ships have covered holds and are intended basically for carrying of general and bulk cargoes, containers and timber.
Modifications. Constructions of hull and superstructure of the ships of the projects 16510 and 16530 are similar. Ships of the project 16530 have bigger length and smaller width. Project 16510 has two holds; project 16530 - three holds. Tankers of the project 15230 were developed from the project 16510 and differ from them by the increased length of the hull.
Serial building. Building of the ships of all modifications was started in 1992 till 1994 on different plants. Due to absence of the solvent buyers in 90-ties, till 2000 2 units of the project 16510 were built, 1 unit of the project 16530 was built and 1 more keel was laid, 2 keels of tankers of the project 15230 were laid.
Distribution. Dry cargo ships were delivered to Volga and different other shipping companies, including foreign ones, for work mainly on Baltic sea with the possibility of visiting the river ports of Russia and european countries. At present time all finished ships are in service. Building of tankers was started for the company "Tatneft", but due to its financial problems there are plans of finishing them for the company "Lukoil".
