| Type "Nevskiy" |
Description. Motor ships of the type NEVSKIY of different variants (projects R-32, R-32A, R-32BU and R-32K) are the big dry cargo ships, which have open cargo hold-bunker or covered hold, with double boards and double bottom, with machine compartment in the rear part, superstructure, depending on modification, in the rear or fore-part, including those equipped with lifting wheel-house. Ships are intended basically for carrying of bulk cargoes.
Modifications. Ships of the initial project have low superstructure with two small funnels; ships of the project R-32A have high one, with one funnel. Ships have open cargo hold-bunker and superstructure in the rear part. Modified ships (project R-32BU) have the increased machine power, bigger length of the hull and cargo-carrying capacity, ice strengthenings of the hull. Ships were built in two variants: one - with the high superstructure in the rear part and another - with very low wheel-house at the bow. Several ships got cargo hold with the hatch covers. Ships of the last modification (project R-32K) are equipped with lifting wheel-house at the bow. Several ships got a covered hold, intended for carrying of containers inside and on the hatch covers.
Serial building. Since 1973 till 1994 40 units of the type "Nevskiy" were built, among them: 7 - of the project R-32, 13 - of the project R-32A, not less than 11 - of the project R-32BU (5 - with high superstructure), up to 8 - of the project R-32K.
Distribution. Motor ships of the type "Nevskiy" were delivered to North-Western Shipping Company for work mainly on Neva, Ladoga and Onego lakes, in Finnish gulf of the Baltic sea. Several ships were delivered to White Sea - Onega Shipping Company and Ukrrechflot, and also (those built in 90-ties) to foreign shipping companies. To present time many ships were transferred for work on Volga. Some ships were registered under "comfortable" flags. One ship sank in 1999.
