Description. Motor ships of the type NEFTERUDOVOZ (projects 1553, 1570 and 15790) are the big dry and liquid cargo combination "river-sea" ships with forecastle and quarter-deck, with machine compartment and superstructure in the rear part, with dry cargo hold in the center of the hull and tanks for oil and oil products along the boards.
Modifications. Ships of the type "Nefterudovoz" are constructively similar to the dry freighters of the "river-sea" class: initial project (project 1553) - to the type "Volgo-Balt" (project 791), modified project (project 1570) - to the type "Sormovskiy" (project 1557). Ore / oil carriers differ from the dry cargo ships by the increased length of the hull and by some details of the superstructure. Project 15790 is more modern ships type of the similar scheme and size, with the superstructure, forecastle and quarter-deck of the new construction.
Serial building. The building of the series was begun on the plant "Krasnoe Sormovo", where the leading ship was built, and then it was continued on the plant "Kama". Since 1968 till 1992 60 units of the projects 1553 and 1570 were built. Modified ships were assigned letter "M" to the serial names. Since 1995 one ship of the project 15790 was built and one more was to be finished till 2002.
Distribution. Ships of the type "Nefterudovoz" were delivered to Volgotanker. Ships and used in Volga basin, on Baltic, Azov, Black and Caspian seas mainly in export oil transportation. In 90-ties some ships were sold to different other shipping companies. One ship was written off in 90-ties.
