Description. Motor ships of the type MB (project 07521) are the big line tugs of the "river-sea" class with ice-strengthened hull, intended for eastern rivers. Serial name (MB) means morskoy buksir or 'sea tug'.

Serial building. Since 1986 till 1994 33 units of the project 07521 were built. Ships were assigned serial numbers starting from 1201; some late-built ships got their own specific names.

Distribution. Tugs of the project 07521 were delivered to Ob-Irtysh, Yenisey, Lena, Volga, North-Western, White Sea - Onega shipping companies, Arctic Waterway authority, Rechmortrans company (former Expedition for the sea steering of the river ships) for work on the main rivers and coastal regions including Arctic seas. In 90-ties some ships were transferred from Sibir to european part for work on foreign coastal lines. At present time the majority of ships of this type are in service.
