Description. Motor ships of the type KASPIY or OLEG KOSHEVOY are the big decker tankers of the "river-sea" class, with machine compartment and superstructure in the rear part, intended for carrying of crude oil and oil products. Ships were built as a continuation of the series of the tankers of the type "Volgoneft", aimed at Caspian sea navigation.

Serial building. Ships were built since 1980 till 1989 in the USSR (19 units were built), since 1984 till 1988 in Bulgaria (7 units were built). Mainly ships were assigned names after the young heroes of the World War II. One ship got a serial name "Volgoneft" with number 301.

Ship "Sviyaga". In 1985 in the USSR the special ship was built for support of underwater works in the depths up to 300 meters. Ship have the same hull and some constructive details similar to the tankers.

Ship "Aleksandr". One modified ship was built in 1993 in Russia. Ship has increased length and draught, as well as the new tanks construction.

Distribution. Motor ships of the type "Oleg Koshevoy" are the main little-draught tankers of the Caspian Shipping Company. Besides Caspian sea ships were delivered to Black sea and Far East (Amur and Far-Eastern shipping companies). In late 90-ties one ship was registered under "comfortable" flag. All ships are in service at present time.
