| Type "Irtysh" |
Description. Motor ships of the type IRTYSH are the mid-size dry cargo "river-sea" ships, which have a covered hold, with double boards and double bottom, with machine compartment and superstructure in the rear part, equiped with lifting wheel-house, with the single propeller shaft. Ships are intended basically for carrying of general cargoes, containers and timber. Ships have big sea draught and have to be partially unloaded for passing the inland waterways.
Serial building. In 1996 2 units of the type "Irtysh" were built. Hull of the first ship was built in Germany at the Arminius Werke shipyard and was finished by Cassens shipyard. Second ship was built in Russia by the russian-german joint venture Onega Arminius.
Distribution. Initially the series of this type were built for the ukrainian customer, but they were delivered at last to Ob-Irtysh Shipping Company for work mainly on Baltic sea with the possibility of visiting the river ports of Russia and european countries. At present time both ships of this type are in service.
