Description. Motor ships of the type BTO (project 81200) are the mid-size line tug-pushers, equipped with automated bending barge-holding device of the O-150T-8 type. Ships were built as a continuation of the series of the type "Volgar" (project R-45) and are sometimes included into this type for the initial name of the first ship. Serial name (BTO-600) means buksir-tolkach ozernyy or 'lake tug-pusher', 600 h.p..

Serial building. Since 1985 till 1991 9 units of the type BTO were built. First ship, while built, got serial name "Volgar" with number of that series. Then it was assigned its own specific name. Later ships were assigned serial numbers starting from 601 and their own specific names.

Distribution. Tug-pushers of the project 81200 were delivered to Volga and Moscow shipping companies for work on Upper Volga and Moscow-Volga canal. In 90-ties some ships are considered to be laid up for absence of work.
