Description. Motor ships of the type MARSHAL BLYUKHER (project 947) are the powerful line tug-pushers, equipped with three automated barge-holding devices of the O-220P-6 and O-200TN-6 types, with hydro transmission. The most powerful tugs-pushers in the USSR. The other serial name (OT-4000) means ozernyy tolkach or 'lake pusher', 4000 h.p.
Modifications. After the first ship was built the project was modified. Later-built ships slightly differ from the first one.
Serial building. Since 1970 3 units of the project 947 were built. Two ships were assigned names after the outstanding soviet marshals.
Distribution. Pushers of the type "Marshal Blyukher" were delivered to Volga and Volgotanker shipping companies for work on Volga. Ships of this type are used with dry cargo barge trains of four or six sections and liquid cargo barge trains of up to four 9000-tonn sections. At present time at least one ship is laid up.
