Ship Types / Tugs
and Pushers
Description. Motor ship OT-1401 (type
ARKUS, project 92-049, slovakian designation TR ARKUS, 'river pusher ARKUS')
is the big line tug-pusher. Ship was built as the first ship in the planned series
intended to replace elderly pushers
of the type "Dunayskiy". Serial name (OT-1400) means ozernyy
tolkach or 'lake pusher', 1400 h.p. Pusher is equipped with the automated
barge-holding device of the O-200 type; also the modification for eastern rivers
was worked out with the device of the UDR-100 type. No serial production took
place; the single built ship "OT-1401" belongs to the Rechmortrans company
(former Expedition for the sea steering of the river ships). At present time it
is used with former barge attachments of the
dry cargo motor ships of the type "Volzhskiy", which were converted
into the "river-sea" class.
